The mission of the Cocheco
Valley Humane Society is to make possible a better world for all animals
by providing shelter, educating the community about humane care and treatment,
advocating animal welfare, and promoting the human-animal bond. |

and volunteers conduct outreach programs such as rabies and micro-chipping
clinics in cooperation with local veterinarians. |
CVHS teaches pet ownership
responsibility to local youngsters through the Classroom Critter program. |
The CVHS foster home
care program provides for special needs animals awaiting adoption. |
Hundreds of volunteers
give their time and energy to homeless animals by performing administrative
duties, volunteering for special events, and cleaning, feeding, and socializing
the animals. |
