Cocheco Valley Humane Society Thanks Dr. O'Connell's PainCare Centers for $5000 Matching Gift

DOVER-Cocheco Valley Humane Society would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Michael O'Connell, and his family and staff for a $5000 matching gift received by the Dover based animal shelter in early January. Roxanne, a former shelter cat, and several pets of his staff, were the inspiration behind the Somersworth pain care facility's gift matching offer.

We've experienced great results from our holiday appeal this year and believe that Dr. O'Connell's PainCare Centers' matching gift was very instrumental in boosting our year-end donations! The year-end results more than doubled from 2001 as donors raised over $22,330 through the appeal as of December 31. The matching gift raised the appeal's total results to over $27,330. Both individuals and local business owners contributed, making the 2002 year-end fundraising the best on record for C.V.H.S.

We are grateful to all of those who sent gifts throughout the year to keep us going as well as during the holiday season. Thanks to all of our members and supporters, C.V.H.S. made a difference in the lives of over 1300 pets last year through adoptions, including animals reunited with their owners.

Donations large and small make a whole new world possible for our community's homeless pets. Thank you all for your ongoing support in your humane society!

On behalf of the animals and C.V.H.S. staff,

Elizabeth Fourar-Laidi, Executive Director

Mary Lou Hendrick, Development Coordinator
