CVHS needs volunteers from all sorts of backgrounds, experience and education. Whether you enjoy working with the animals themselves, fundraising, educating others, or working with your hands, we need your help!

The Cocheco Valley Humane Society appreciates your interest and support. We do all we can to provide a better life for the animals that come to us and without Volunteers we would not be as successful in helping these animals as we are. Each and every volunteer make all that we do possible.

CVHS asks that all volunteers agree to a 6 month commitment, giving a minimum of 4 hours per month. Volunteers are more than welcome to put in more time if they so choose. We also ask that volunteers agree to set and maintain a monthly schedule.

Volunteers are required to attend a two hour training and orientation seminar before starting to volunteer. This is provided by the Volunteer Coordinator for the purpose of familiarizing new volunteers with policies, procedures and give them a tour of our facility and to answer any questions they may have.
