Get Involved with CVHS!

Posted Monday, June 23, 2003 by cvhs

The official start of Summer is only days away and with it comes vacation season for many people, including many of the CVHS Volunteers. Throughout the school year we are visited and given assistance by many students from area schools, by groups as well as individually, however with vacation season CVHS loses many of these volunteers.

With Spring ending and Summer starting the walls of CVHS are ready to burst. We have cats, dogs, kittens, puppies, bunnies and guinea pigs, you may even spot a rat or two among our current residents. These animals big and small all need everyday care. This 'Care' comes in many disguises, it could be cleaning cages, doing dishes or laundry, yard work & gardening to name only a few examples.

Cocheco Valley Humane Society is always in great need of Volunteers to
assist with the care necessary to provide our animals with the TLC that they deserve. However now Volunteers are needed more than ever. We need Volunteers to assist with the direct care of the animals as well as to participate at events or to help with ongoing projects that ultimately benefit the CVHS residents.

Can you help? Even a few hours a month would mean so much to the animals of the Cocheco Valley Humane Society. To learn more on how to be a Volunteer and what is required, please call the Juliette Smith at 603-749-5322, stop by the shelter at 262 County Farm Rd in Dover NH or visit our website

PUPPIES FOR ADOPTION!

Posted Tuesday, June 10, 2003 by cvhs

We received a litter of 8 Walker Hound puppies from Virginia. We did not receive the large group of puppies from Virginia that were due in last week due to illness. We will put all approved applications on our puppy wish list. If you're interested in adopting a puppy, you must fill out an application and either bring or mail it to the shelter. Sorry, No on-line applications will be accepted. Once your application is approved, we will put you on the puppy wish list. Please note: our adoption counselor will contact only those people whose application information best suits the needs of the puppy. It is not
based on first come first serve. Thank you for your support.
